Quick answer

A dental emergency includes severe toothache, swelling, a knocked-out tooth, a badly broken tooth, a lost crown or filling causing pain, uncontrolled bleeding, or dental trauma. Call Allo Dental Clinic at (416) 883-8000 for same-day guidance during clinic hours.

When should I call a dentist right away?

Call promptly for swelling, spreading pain, fever, trauma, a knocked-out adult tooth, uncontrolled bleeding, or pain that is getting worse. These symptoms need diagnosis, not guesswork.

If symptoms affect breathing, swallowing, vision, or overall medical safety, seek emergency medical care immediately.

What should I do before the appointment?

Keep the area clean, avoid chewing on the painful side, and call before using temporary dental products. For a knocked-out adult tooth, hold the tooth by the crown, avoid touching the root, and keep it moist in milk or saliva while seeking urgent care.

Do I need to be an existing patient?

No. Allo Dental Clinic can assess urgent dental concerns for new and existing patients. Call first so the team can triage timing and next steps.
